Coming in November: iPhone available at Bell and Telus!
iPhone Available at BELL and Telus!
All over Canada, thousands of people are rejoicing over the fact they can get Apple iPhone with any of the Big 3. Sometime next month, Canadians will be able to purchase the Apple iPhone at Bell or TELUS. Up until now, the revolutionary Smartphone could only be obtained through Rogers, but the times are changing. What does this all mean? More options to consumers! More say in which provider they want to partner with, without compromising the wireless device of their choice. Customers will be able to port their GSM phones and/or numbers from one network to another, reducing the likelihood of having to get a new device.
Canada will be the first country in the world that Apple will licence their product to more than one carrier.
Although no official announcement date in November has been made, the availability of the Apple iPhone is imminent. Consumers will now be able to choose which wireless carrier best meets their needs without compromising their decision on the iPhone. The launch of the iPhone with Bell and Telus will go hand in hand with the launch of Bell and Telus’ HSPA network. The much anticipated network will allow both wireless carriers to provide wireless devices on a vastly superior network. Subsequently, Bell and Telus will see their revenues increase as a result of the high ARPU(Average Revenue per user) that smartphone customers are known to pay. Along with Apple iPhone, several other devices that were exclusive to the GSM market will now be available to Bell and Telus. Canadian customers now have more choice in the wireless industry. They also will have Rogers, Bell and Telus competing for their business on a different level. A message that myCELLmyTERMS has had since day one. “We developed our site to bring value to our customers by letting them ask for what they want, we then shop their proposals out to all the carriers and have them compete for their business.”
Will Canada follow Asian and European countries? Will we see the wireless industry moving towards moving towards a sim card only ecosystem where people just get the sims from the carriers and be able to use the phone of their choice. Will this end the need for contracts?
