Motorola Cliq Review

In this corner weighing in at 4.8oz, standing at 4.5in tall with a 3.5in diagonal display, a built-in capacity of 16 or 32 gigabytes drive, standby time of up to 300hours(12.5days), sporting either black or white case options, Apple’s touchscreen smartphone Assasin the iPhone3gs
The Challenger; weighing in at 5.6oz, standing 4.49in tall with a 3.1 display, an expandable microSD up to 32gigs, standby time of up to 325hours(13.5days), sporting titanium or white case options, is Motorola’s social skilled monster the Cliq.

Now, I’m not going to bore you with an itemized breakdown of all there individual features and specs, the official websites and other comparison websites do that just nicely if you want to get into the details. I’m going to provide a brief summary round by round and see who prevails of the most common comparisons. Here’s the tail of the tape; the iPhone has about a 2year age advantage, the Cliq has the hunger. Cliq boasts a 5megapixel camera advantage over the 2megapixel iPhone. Both offer standard Wifi connectivity and the new Canadian standard networks of GSM and HSPA, Cliq can be offered in cdma.

The Challenger operates on the google android platform and has an interesting social networking feature known as Motoblur that scores a pretty good uppercut. It is an all in one stop messaging board for all your social media sites updates from Facebook, Twitter etc… Seems like a very convenient way to simplify having many different accounts without having to log into each one separately. True to the iPhone moto”..there’s an app for that,” counters right back with Zensify.
Both phones, as many of the new smartphones with touch display have similar feel, shape and weight. The Cliq has the more common Qwerty keyboard that slides out while the iPhone has a non-slide Qwerty keyboard touch.

Fast forwarding to the judges decision…..And still the smart phone leader the Apple Assassin the iPhone 3gs! As the competition has been getting stronger and bringing more built in features to their phones, the iPhone tends to counter with its Apps store community and in many cases outmatches the competition because of the many odd or useful apps it can provide. Besides that factor, ground breaking technology or clearly unique enhancements which is what launched the iPhone would help all challengers in the future. I like the Cliq for all its similarities, but it would have my vote for more Originality.
