It’s Not Just Green it’s Clean
Last thursday as I was putting out my recycling box by the curbside, reading the news on the climate change summit printed on recycled paper, drinking my orange juice from the recycled carton, while my laundry was being washed in eco-friendly cold water detergent in my energystar rated washing machine, I recieved a call from a charity company about recycling old clothes, but was thinking about my to do list of places I needed to drive to in my low emission vehicle, to pick up some eco-materials to make the house more energy efficient when all of a sudden the phone rang again and it came to me. In my consciousness to make all things around me environmentally friendly as much as I could I realized that the device closest to me was not….until now!
From 80% recycled materials, starting from the packaging to 100% of Samsungs new eco-vative and innovative phone the RECLAIM being biodegradable, as to their moto, “Its not just green, its clean”.
The Reclaim seems to be symbolic to the statement as environmentalists might proclaim, give back to nature, and we can Reclaim its beauty. And such is this phone, with the choice of two very pleasant and vibrant eco-colours of green and blue, Reclaim is very functional and the fact it promotes green would be almost secondary.
Its not the most powerful cell phone you can find but its packed with all the standard goodies for browsing, multimedia applications, built in 2.0mp camera(no flash), emailing and instant messaging. As well, bluetooth, and an expandable memory capacity of up to 16gb.
The cell phone also has good size and feel in the hands, and like a growing flower the slide out Qwerty keypad helps it grow from 2.3in to 3.9in for quick messaging ability. The screen is clear, not as big as other phones, measuring 2.4in. Good talk time which is rated at 4hours however consumer reports have stated near 7hours.
Overall this phone does good and makes you feel good that everytime you talk to your friends, family and associates you’re doing your part to not only look green but be green.
Have a Green day!
