Customer Service indeed is bad. The girl over phone was so rude when I was making an inquiry and asked for the address. When I asked for the postal code, she hung up on me. If this is how they treat the prospective customer, I can very well guess how they must be treating their current customer.

I just can't agree enough, Public mobile phones the cheap ones manufactured by ZTE as utterly Trash. They aren't worth even a penny. I paid 55 for this piece of crap which only worked 2 months and the store warranty is quite tricky. I urge you not to go for public mobile unless you want to use them only for a month or two and pay such a price for all the trouble.

I would like to express my disappointments about your mobile facilities, espesialy this phone that you called buzz & unfortunatly you consider it as a smart phone from recent generation.
It's hard to find where i will start due to long list of unsatisfactory points that i have, i even considered using my line with a normal old phone but unfortunately that even this is impossible with your strategy of having no sim card and this is one of the great handicap that you have since your coverage is miserable the phone battery is not lasting sometimes the day and with your choice of not having the standard USB adaptor so we are unable to charge this devise everywhere & we are not able to switch the line to another charged phone.

Also considering your USB link that is enable to let you manage anything on the phone except your memory card so am i having a smart device or just a memory card reader?
This handicap is avoiding us from copying our contacts except by bleutooth and when we do it your device is not capable to get the information properly that gave us a hard work to do by going back to each contact and do the corrections and this is a terror when we are talking about 500 business contacts.
In addition to all that managing your phone book give you the feeling of that you are using an old mobile created in 1980 wow a retro effect (but not recommended)
This device is suposed to give me a mail facilities but unfortunatly it just notify me that i got mails in order to manage them somewhere else this if i got them on time because many days i got them with a delay of minimum 4 hours.
Once you receive an email it is directly displayed on your screen and could be open even if you activate your keyboard lock wich is bad since sometimes the phone is in your pocket and key pad might be pressed by hazard. But the worth is that even if you protect your mail with a password a new email give anyone the possibility to surf inside your saved mail with no single protection.
In addition to that your useless email system is giving another handicap that you are unable to forward any mail. You only have the choice to reply or read wish is very anoying sometimes and your major mail problem is that your miserable device is not supporting applications that made us unable to open any attachment (sorry guys but buisness mail do have attachments we don't need mails to chat or sms)
I have this device since a month and i am manager so using it only in an office but even with this short period the coated black color is scratched & look years old, i never saw something cheaper in my life.
Also the navigation key is starting not responding or slow.
Guys even the games on it are very bad (another retro effect) it remind me the attary, and if you play it you can see that it's not responding many times & drive you crazy
Lets switch to talk about your signal, wow, you are selling phones at Montreal one of the biggest underground cities, but guess what no public mobile signals there, how should i expect signal underground while i lose signal every time i go into a room with no window?
So can someone tell me for what i should use this device?? (it's not heavy enough to use it as door stopper)

Guess what else!! the 611 the costumer support don't operate 24hours in 2011 not at least with an automated system.
And the last joke i had is: yesterday they called me to get my opinion & they called me another time after 2 hours for the same reason, it shows a great organisation, and after hearing my complains they told me that true a lot of persons suffer from the same problems & suggested me to buy a new public mobile device that could solve some of my problems for 140$, so i assume it was a publicity call & not a customer care. but sorry guys for 140 i can get an IPHONE with a deal of three years anywhere in town.
The handicaps of this buzz are enough to call it back from all the market & give us a new device for FREE maybe we can have a fair deal, i won't believe that someone will pay another device with you guys.

Public mobile phones are, sadly, not even worth the $50 for their cheapest model. They are the absolute bottom of the barrel when it comes to functionality -- their Buzz phone, for example, is a wannabe BlackBerry; looks nice on the outside but totally el cheapo in every other respect. For example, on the Buzz phone simple notifications (like you've missed a call) have the text running outside of the notification area which is kind of like text on a printed page running beyond the margins. At times it just looks sloppy and half-finished, sometimes it makes the phone unusable because the information is simply not visible. Other "features" on the phone seem completely slapped together or, at times, not even finished (some menu options do literally nothing).

When I picked up the phone, a replacement for another shoddy Public Mobile phone, the rep. kept going to the back to swap batteries from other phones because, according to him, they tend to have defective batteries. Not more than a week after using the new phone, I can say definitely that he seems to be correct -- the battery won't hold a charge, phone won't turn on at all even when plugged into an outlet. I wasn't expecting a miracle but carrying around a $100 brick is not what I was expecting -- we'll see how they deal with it when I try to get a replacement. Next month I'm dropping them altogether.

Perhaps even worse, pretty much every Public Mobile phone I've been on the receiving end of has has awful audio quality, muffled to the point where I can't understand what's being said even as the person on the PM phone is shouting into the receiver. I was tempted to blame Public Mobile's network for this but I'm convinced it has to do with their phones and very poor quality microphones. If you're okay with producing muffled, human-voice-sounding noises as a form of communication, Public Mobile will probably work okay for you, but if you use human speech to communicate it'll be tough. Seriously, it's almost like listening to the adults from Peanuts cartoons -- wah wah wah wah.

Yes, their plans are cheap and pretty much as advertised, so in this respect I have no issue with Public Mobile, but their phones are just awful in pretty much every respect. As I said, I don't think they're worth the money you pay for them, especially considering the difficulty in using them to make phone calls (the only thing they can really do).

Thing is, if they updated their phones or allowed other phones onto their network, Public Mobile might be a good alternative. However, their phones don't use SIM cards (network access is baked into the hardware) so other phones just aren't an option, and it seems that Public Mobile is dedicated to giving people the worst options when it comes to hardware so updates don't seem to be in the cards. To me, this overshadows cheap calling rates -- if your phone can't make phone calls or you can't make out what's being said, it doesn't really matter how much you're paying for those calls, does it?

My two cents.

personally i'm looking to change from public mobile, i mean the service is AMAZING best cell service i've ever had, but the problem is not just with the phones but the coverage, they say they cover all of laval and Montreal, yet there are many places i go in both and i have absolutely no service, i've asked a rep once why this is and she just apologized because they are a new company. also they showed me the data plan i was amazed, i could download i could do whatever i wanted, thing is... its crap, when i could finally get to a site it takes like 10 minutes for the next page to load. i'm sorry i'm paying 45$ a month for a phone i barely use... thanks public mobile, i'll see you in the future.

OH MY GOSH; I am going through the same EXACT thing right now; it is a nightmare. I was told it was to happen the same day, then the next day, and later, someone else told me it takes about 4 days! I'm on the 5th day, and it hasn't happened yet! And to make it worse, the temporary number that I had been given stopped working. I got a call from a guy who claimed it was HIS number, and an hour later, I couldn't make or receive any calls.
At this rate, they won't be around much longer! Nor will I stay with them!
