Tablet Review: BlackBerry Playbook vs. Apple iPad vs. Samsung Galaxy Tab
Will the BlackBerry Playbook take a bite out of Apple?
With BlackBerry set to launch its first tablet computer in early 2011, they are a number of positives for RIM with this device, so what are they.
1. Dimensions – The device is slightly bigger than the Samsung Galaxy Tab and about 33% lighter than Apple’s iPad.
2. Online Capability – It can be tethered to your BlackBerry and no separate data plan is required. This is huge, as we all know how efficient BlackBerry is on data bandwidth and therefore your pocketbook.
3. Flash Friendly – The Playbook will be Flash ready so this is another major bonus in terms of being able to view richer content when browsing online.

Samsung Focus WP 7 Cell Phone Review
Samsung Focus Now Available in Canada
Looking to get a Windows 7 Phone? The Samsung Focus is one of four WP 7 phones ,the other three being, HTC Surround, LG Optimus and LG Quantum all of which are available in Canada for the first time, week of November 8. The Focus is not stylish by any stretch, but it is the thinnest WP7 phone that exists right now, and it’s kind of the first thing you notice.
In terms of specs, the Focus is like the Galaxy S Model phones all of which carry Super Amoled 4 “ screens but with a different CPU and less RAM, and of course with Window Phone 7 Operating System behind it. In terms of Applications, Microsoft is working on expanding its supported APPs which you can download from Marketplace though admittedly there are lagging behind Google Android in variety and availability at this time.

The review of the HTC Surround T8788 is a review of one of the first Windows Phone 7 cell phones to be launched in Canada. I was immediately drawn to the HTC Surround because I’ve always associated Windows mobile devices with HTC from the early days of the HTC Touch and later the Touch Pro and Diamond. In addition, HTC has become a leader in the cell phone arena with notable devices like the Nexus One, and the HTC Desire, so it seems obvious to review the new HTC Surround as one of my first looks at a Windows Phone 7 device. This cell phone is available in Canada on November 8th through TELUS. Pricing is expected to be around $99 on 3 year contract.
