Which tablet should I choose?

That’s the question that will become more and more common as the tablet industry kicks into high gear this year.  We will try to help you answer that question with this blog post featuring a side-by-side comparison of the top three tablet computers to watch out for in 2011.

  1. The Apple iPad is the standard for tablet computers.  With more than 17 million iPads sold to date and the iPad2 in Canada as of March 25 Apple has clearly set the pace.
  2. BlackBerry is still a giant in the smart phone space and the BlackBerry PlayBook, widely viewed as runner up of the CES 2011 Best of Tablet Award, is a highly anticipated tablet from RIM.
  3. The Motorola Xoom is the unknown kid on the block for many, but with its recent crowning at CES 2011 – Best of Show Award – and Android’s latest operating system optimized for tablets, this tablet will head up the Android attack this year.

As the market continues to evolve, we will make every effort to update this blog as more information becomes available.

So which tablet do you intend to buy?

The OS version on the “iPad 2″ is wrong. The iPad will at least be running 4.3 when it is released. The current iPad runs 4.2 right now.

Looks like the new Blackberry Playbook has the Apple iPad 2 and Motorola Xoom beat based purely on screen resolution for user experience.

With nearly the same pixel density packed into a screen that is 2″ smaller diagonally, the Playbook has way better resolution. This is also true of the Samsung Galaxy Tab.

I would much rather have a slightly smaller screen with amazing clarity than a bigger screen with mediocre looks.

Add to that the fact that the weight of the Blackberry Playbook and Samsung Galaxy Tab are about half the weight of their competitors and it becomes clear that they are the wiser choice for any tablet customer.

I am only waiting on one of these to be available with a phone built in…….. Surf, E-reader and cell phone in one device……..I don’t even have a cell phone as I have been waiting for this. This is the future. When is Canada going to catch up with Europe and the US? This is available there already but not sold in Canada as far as I have searched. Bell and Rogers tell me that tablets are not phones and you need both devices…..I wonder why …oh yes trying to force the consumer to buy both and make even more profits in stead of being the leaders they are stunting the market….I will wait and hopefully it will be one of their competitors so I can have my own little slap at them by using one of the other companies.HE HE HO HO ( last laugh )
