Is the Samsung Galaxy S II, the real iPhone Killer?

With these two former friends (Apple & Samsung) quickly becoming enemies over patents disputes and infringement claims, the next version of Samsung’s wildly popular Android smartphone the Samsung Galaxy S II is sure to up the ante.

The iPhone 5 won’t launch in Canada until October most likely, however, the Samsung S II will be launched in Canada on July 21st and will have a few months leeway to do some damage.

Wondering what Samsung has in store for us…

Sick Design

This device is one sexy piece of work.  At just 1/3 of an inch in width the form factor is Apple like and as they say, imitation is a form of flattery so no wonder they hate each other.

4.3″ Super AMOLED Plus Display

As Apple would say the screen “it’s magical.” The 4.3″ SUPER AMOLED Plus display ups the ante for Samsung and provides enhanced readability, a slightly slimmer design, and better battery consumption. They have also improved the response time, which makes for smoother graphics and better web browsing at a 480 x 800 resolution.

Dual Core Processors

This is the new standard for mobile devices as far as I am concerned.  Please see to it that RIM hears this loud and clear.  With dual processors you can expect better performance on Android, quicker multi-tasking, a smoother UI, snappier streaming, and highly efficient gaming.

8MP Camera with Full HD Recording Playback

Need I really say anymore. Technology is just unbelievable these days and not only do you get an 8MP camera with built in LED flash and 1080p full HD recording and playback.

Other Goodies

  1. Live Panel provides direct access to the content you access most on your device, which could be music, email, SMS, notes, etc.
  2. With Samsung Voice you can control the Samsung GALAXY S II 4G with a few selected words.  For example you can do thinks like calling, music, messaging, scheduling, and launching apps or make a note with a voice command.
  3. Readers Hub and much like the name says allows you to read books on your 4.3″ AMOLED display.
  4. Social Hub allows you to synchronize all your social accounts like Facebook, Twitter, email, IM,etc. This should also be in the standard category for smartphone like AC for a nice ride.
  5. Game Hub – The Galaxy S II comes with an accelerometer and gyroscope sensors and you can download a host of games to play.
  6. AllShare – Another goodie included by Samsung that allows you to wirelessly connect with your TV, laptop or even audio system.

With the latest version of Android, up to six (6) hours of battery life, expandable memory up to 32gb and all the other goodies the Samsung Galaxy S II will certainly live up to it’s past accolades.

The Samsung Galaxy S II will be launched in Canada on July 21st on Bell and SaskTel’s network and the buzz about this device on the myCELLmyTERMS network has been intense.   So are you getting the Galaxy S II?  Find the best cell phone deal on the Samsung Galaxy S II.
