Oops! HP brings in the big guns to sue itself

If you’ve ever worked in a big company, then you know how easy it is for things to slip through the cracks, but this one takes the cake.

As you know, HP’s TouchPad has become seriously popular of late after going on fire-sale for $99, following their announcement to discontinue any future development on WebOS and sell off their computer business.

So in all the frenzy, HP caught wind of a website that was offering individuals refunds on the HP Touchpad. I guess they would have been the unlucky few customers that bought the device at $499 when it first went on sale, but sorry I digress.  Once HP caught wind of the site, they thought it was a fraudulent HP Refund Program, mobilized their legal team and started pushing some paper.

Problem however, is that the site is and was LEGIT having been contracted by HP to handle the refund process.  So in all the commotion, HP found a way to try to sue itself. LOL!

I guess you can call this a classic case of adding insult to injury.
