For the last few years, Apple has done an amazing job at creating buzz behind its product launches while keeping details and specs behind its product releases as secret as possible. The Apple iPhone 5 is no exception. But what do we know so far? Is the new Apple iPhone 5 business friendly? Let’s take a look at 5 things that businesses will like about the NEW iPhone 5. The iPhone 5 will come with iOS 5 as its operating system. The great thing about that is it gives us a window into what the iPhone 5 will do. So what will business users like about it?

iCloud: We can’t tell you about the Apple iPhone 5 without telling you about iCloud. iCloud allows you to  access almost everything on all your devices. Click on iCLoud button on the iPhone 5 and you can tap to select and all of your emails, documents, photos, contacts, bookmarks, calendars get sent to all your other Apple devices that are iCloud ready. No syncing required. Talk about convenience.

Twitter Integration: We know more and more businesses are using Twitter as part of their marketing/social media strategy to promote themselves. On the iPhone 5, you will be able to login into Twitter thru settings and Tweet anything directly from Safari, Photos, YouTube, Selected apps, your location and more. This will save you time by allowing you to tweet in an instant (Just make sure you know what your tweeting:)

iMessage: The one consistent message we have heard from Blackberry users is “I can’t switch to iPhone because of BBM (Blackberry messenger). The latest iPhone with the latest iOS will now allow you to send messages between ALL Apple iOS devices using a Blackberry style messaging system. You will be able to send text, photos, videos, contact information from any iOS 5 device to any other iOS device. Content is pushed and fully encrypted with delivery and read receipts. (Businesses will like this)The more businesses that switch from Blackberry to Apple, the more likelihood that BBM will becomes less of a reason to stay with Blackberry.

Notification Center: I know that most of us are multi-tasking maniacs that have several things going on at once. Now you can keep track of new emails, voicemails, missed calls, texts, weather, stock market updates, social media updates and other push type notifications. Just swipe down from the top of any screen to enter the Notification Center. Choose which notifications you want to see .New notifications will appear briefly at the top of your screen, without interrupting what you’re doing. And the Lock screen displays notifications so you can act on them with just a swipe. This will save you time by allowing you to prioritize your tasks.

Reminders: How many of us enter a calendar entry to remind ourselves of what we need to do? Before you know it, your calendar is filled with important and unimportant things to do. Reminders lets you organize yourself, complete with due dates and locations. For example, you need to pick up important documents at the office before you fly out. Since Reminders are location based, the second you get close to the office, an alert will go off. Reminders also works with iCal, Outlook, and iCloud, so changes you make update automatically on all your devices and calendars. Easy way to keep on top of everything you need to do.

Are we already at 5? Here’s a few more.

Improved Voice Recognition: It is a good thing that iPhone 5 is coming with a faster processor and increased memory (rumblings are it will be a dual core processor with 1GB of ram) because it will need it to run the voice recognition software effectively.

iPhone Chassis: thinner and lighter device, better features, added functionality in a smaller package. This is great for those business users that hate carrying a bulky smartphone.

The iPhone 5 comes complete with Apple’s latest operating system, iOS 5. The features of iOS 5 along with the new features and added functionality will make it a coveted device for businesses. We know that Rogers, BELL and TELUS will carry the new iPhone 5 but the question is “Which carrier will offer me the best plan”?

Rumors have it that the iPhone 5 will be released on Oct 21st in the US and in Canada in early November. Stay tuned for updates.
