iPhone4S or iPhone4 – Which one should i get?
If you are in the market for a new iPhone, you are likely wondering whether or not upgrading is worth the money now, or if you should take advantage of the many deals we are seeing on the – soon to be older – iPhone4. The deals for the iPhone4 have been amazing of late and i mean amazing, even free in some instances. And if you think that isn’t great, the iPhone is never FREE on a contract so this is a big deal.
So, should I upgrade to the iPhone4s or take the deal on a iPhone4?
The new iPhone4S comes in the same shell as its predecessor the iPhone4 so no differences there.
The differences this time around are all under the hood, but what does that really mean for the average person? It means a new operating system with several new features powered by arguably the fastest processor in a smart phone today.
The key features of iOS5 and the iPhone 4S are:
- 8MP camera with 1080p HD video recording
- Faster processor – some benchmark studies are claiming it’s the fastest in the industry.
- iCloud which wirelessly stores your music, files, apps in the cloud and automatically pushes your content to your fleet of Apple devices
- iMessage – BBM for iOS devices
- Siri – voice recognition software that gives you a personal assistant at your command
You can learn more about the latest features of iOS5 with the video at the end of this blog, but for now back to Siri.
Can I run Siri on my iPhone4?
If you own an iPhone4 you will be able to upgrade to iOS5 in the upcoming days, however, you will NOT be able to run Siri. Although this is not stated anywhere, it appears it will be limited to the iPhone 4S given the fact that Siri will require more processing power than the iPhone4 can allocate.
So, if you upgrade to iOS5 and you get all the other software bells and whistles, is having your iPhone talk to you worth upgrading today? Only you can answer that question, but in my opinion if you own an iPhone4 now – like i do – I would wait for the – hopefully – redesigned iPhone5, sometime in the summer of next year. Siri is cool and all, but I just feel like you will go out of your way to use it in the beginning and once the novelty wears off you won’t care that much. After you show off what happens when you tell Siri, “I love you” and it responds with “I hope you don’t say that to the other mobile phones” a few times, it sort of loses its excitement. Plus with Google’s Mobile app installed on your iPhone4 you can already talk to your iPhone to do a search on Google. Isn’t that the most frequent thing you would use Siri for?
From the number of inquiries we’ve seen so far at myCELLmyTERMS and Apple’s pre-order record of over 1 million, it looks like the iPhone 4S will be another hit for Apple, so let us help you find the best deal for your iPhone 4S or your iPhone4.
